It’s Tulip season in the Skagit Valley, unfortunately the weather has been the typical Pacific Northwest drizzle/rain (during the week, the weekends have been pretty good but man, the fields are a MAD HOUSE with people) so I’ve only been able to make it out to the fields once this year. I actually had a different picture ready to go when I realized this morning it was Thursday…I can’t miss Texture Thursday! I’ve got a few more flower shots to post…stay tuned!
For the month of April, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival takes place hosting visitors from 50 states and 51 different countries (according to 2011 data). Typically it’s fields and fields of tulips (and daffodils which bloom shortly before our friend the Tulip), it’s a really cool sight. Of course there are other things to do, art walks/shows, street fairs, the tulip run, the tulip pedal (as in…bike), BBQ’s, wine tasting…the list just keeps going!
